The model WMI is identical to the WM except for having a deep cast iron oil sump and an oil pump. This engine is an industrial version of the WM. Most of these engines were built for reel lawnmowers. These engine are 1/2 HP.

This is a rare version of the early W.I. with a float feed carburator.

Briggs & Stratton Model IS 1938-1949 2.00" Bore 1.50" Stroke L-Head

The 1938 1939 Briggs I.S. was used in the Moto-Scoot & Deluxe Motor Scoot with two extra coils for lighting. It also used the first short plated kick pedal for the kick start & later the cast short kick pedal was adapted to the famous NP for motor scooter engines. This is another version of the early I built for scooters.

This is an early version of the model I. The gear reduction housing is cast into the block. On later versions the gear reduction housings were bolted to the model I.P. block.
This engine was built in june of 1941
